DESCRIPTION
The dial is why you're here. It's a linen finish: fine parallel lines brushed into silver, so the whole face shifts between bright and shadowed as your wrist moves. Grand Seiko charges four figures for the modern version of this idea. Caravelle was doing it in the 1970s on a watch a working person could actually buy.
Caravelle was Bulova's second line. Same engineering culture with a friendlier price. This one is their "Dual-Day," with the day and date sharing a window at three o'clock and Bulova's Set-O-Matic quick-change to move them along. Gold-tone case with sharply faceted lugs, applied gold batons, black leather strap.
Automatic movement, running well and keeping good time.
One honest note: there's a small chip in the crystal, shown in the photos. Worth knowing that these use acrylic crystals which are affordable and widely available, so any watchmaker can swap it for very little. A fixable flaw, not a permanent one.
